A Special Book of Poems . . . All About Job Loss and Life
I recently went to a book signing at Tina's Cafe and Book Shop in Naugatuck CT. The author, Donna Marie Merritt, is a friend of ours and her husband Stew is also a golfing partner of mine.
In 2009, Donna had some great hardships thrown at her from a number of unexpected angles and all within a very short time. She picked the path of author to assist her in her trials, which wasn't a far departure as she is already an accomplished author of Children's books.
In this book, she describes her loss of a job through poetry. Along the way you will also get a glimpse of the additional tests that were to confront her that year.
One poem that is quite relevant to many of us, and quite to the point is about money, or more specifically a
Paycheck:
My cubicle paycheck
Is so small
I am tempted to place it
In the recycling box
The book of poems can be purchased locally in Naugatuck CT at Tina's Cafe and Book Shop at 209 Church St in Naugatuck CT.
It is also available online by ordering through Avalon Press.
Additional information about the author can be found at her web site, DonnaMarieBooks.com. There you will also find some of her other works, in addition to her contact information.
Job Loss, something that many of can relate to, and so much more as well.
