Laughing at the drunks........
Craig is sooooo right here! This is also worth reposting! I'm just on the repost bandwagon today. We can all have fun through the holiday season, but make sure you have a ride home without putting others at risk. We can laugh at the drunks but when all is said and done, give them a ride or taxi to make it home safely and so that others can make it home safely. Again....Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Laughing at the drunks. This time of year, some people may be inclined to celebrate more than usual.
There was a time when laughing at someone who was drunk was acceptable. Foster Brooks made a career out of pretending to be drunk. It was always a good laugh.
We have come a long way from those days. Some may still find it humerous to see their friend in a state that is out of the ordinary but it isn't funny when that person decides to drive.
We have all heard the different slogans------
You drink. You drive. You lose.
Arrive alive. Don't drink and drive
Over the limit. Under arrest.
In Michigan the blood alcohol limit is .08. Other states have limits that may be more or less. We should all be aware of what our personal limit is. We can have a good time without being drunk and saying "what happened, I don't remember". Alternate alcoholic drinks with water.
Be responsible, have a designated driver. If you don't have one, hire one. There are a lot of companies available to service you. Consider the cost. Drunk driving offenses and penalties can costs thousands of dollars and possible lose of your license, vehicle or even your job. Would you pay someone $40.00, $50.00 or even $100.00 to be home safe? Or would you rather say "I'm fine, I can drive myself" and risk the chance of injury to you or someone else.
Here is a link to the National Directory of Designated Drivers.
Enjoy the holidays and the life you have............
