Tis the Season---no matter what your religious beliefs---or lack thereof:
Great summary of what I would like to say so since someone else is saying it better I thought I would just pass it along! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
It seems this IS the season
(Some would say the season with a reason)
---it’s likely true---even with none.
The darkness of the shortest day
(When too dark to stay out and play)
---fosters memories of the light that's on the way.
Reflecting on the year is like a mirror
(With the tipping of champagne or bottles of beer)
---and kisses that take us from year to year.
We are all brothers and sisters you know
(All the colors of the rainbow)
---regardless the sorrows lived or seeds sown.
We pretend we are all so different
(Religion, sex, brains----even accents)
---hiding behind the facades we daily re-invent.
The atheist and the fundamentalist are similar
(As are Wylie Coyote and Road Runner)
---one can’t exist without the other.
Your roof, or my roof, is a matter of chance
(Whether gold leaf or crushed cans)
---we share the same roof after the last dance.
Whether you find yourself in a prison of stone
(Or a prisoner of sickness in your bones)
---freedom is to be found when one is alone.
When compared to a bird or a rock
(It should come as no great shock)
---we are each merely a chip off the same great block.
Tis a Holiday for All---so here is my wish for everyone to make it a great one----and for everyone to create a great New Year as well!
