This was a statement from my very own brother just yesterday! Actually, he was right! We were video chatting about Christmas plans and who was bringing what to dinner, etc. I was still in my sweat pants and undershirt with bed head and he could most likely smell my breath through the computer screen.
I got to thinking about it and really have to say how blessed I am. My brother sells supplemental insurance for elderly, and this time of year is absolutely crazy for him. He works at least 12 hr days for 2 months straight, and is a very good father and husband fitting in time very purposefully for his family.
My kids are out of school for the holidays, and ...basically, so am I! So many clients are busy with the season, so few calls come in as leads, there really isn't much to do.
My year is planned for 2011. I know my budget, I know my focus for the year. What is left to do?
I choose to enjoy the season! My budget was met this year (barely, but still accomplished), my customers are happy, and now I am going to take time for me and my loved ones.
As sales people, we often feel guilt for this thinking that we should be doing something for someone else right now. There's no shame in this. Enjoy yourself. You will be happy you did.
