The Tax credit was one of the driving forces of the Home Buyers in the Fayetteville area. Although, the tax credit was great for Buyers it was unfair to those who were deployed during this time. In the last approval of the Tax Credit, Congress made the necessary changes to allow military members who were out of the country the ability to use the credit. We are approaching the final deadline for military members who were deployed initially and could not take advantage of the credit.
Home buyers must meet the April 30, 2011 deadline to be eligible for the tax credit. The most important part of receiving the credit is that you had to have served overseas on "official extended duty" for at least 90 days between January 1, 2009 - April 30, 2010. If you fall in that category you will need to be under contract prior to April 30, 2011 and close on or before June 30, 2011.
