A Winter Wonderland In The South

By
Real Estate Agent with New Colony Properties, LLC

When you were looking for a house here in Pinehurst:

Did I say that it rarely snows here?

Did I say we usually get a little dusting of the white stuff, but not until January or February?

Did I tell you that the golf is great in the winter months?

Did I suggest that you donate all your winter boots/clothes to goodwill?

Did I laugh when I saw your snow shovel in the moving truck?

Did I tell you that you would no longer need that 4x4 SUV?

Well, my friends, I take it ALL back!!!

It is a Winter Wonderland here in Pinehurst today!!!  I have about 5-6 inches of the fluffy, sticky white stuff and it is still coming down.  I heard that it has been 47 years since Pinehurst experienced a White Christmas.  The snow flakes didn't actually arrive until the wee hours of the morning of the 26th, but that's close enough for me to call it a 'White Christmas in Pinehurst'!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Those are great pics!  Guess I will have the same by tomorrow.  We're getting hit in CT right now...the wind in howling and the snow is blowing like crazy.  It's the first snowfall of the year. They're predicting about 18 inches.   Happy new year 2011 to you!

Barbara - I know you guys up there are supposed to get hit hard.  Our power just flickered here a couple of times....yikes!!!  Stay warm & safe!  Happy New Year to you, too!!!

Vickie - I actually went out this morning to the grocery store to buy some beans for my Ham & Bean soup.  They had cleared the roads, so I thought I'd be OK......and I was!  Tomorrow morning is going to be a different story with the very low temps....  Wishing you a Happy New Year!

That such beauty can cause so much havoc. Shame people can't just stay home for a few days and enjoy it. Happy New Year.

Sam - Thank you!!!  Don't you get some snow in Seattle sometimes???  Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Michael - We usually only get a dusting, too.  We were lucky, we lost power about 3 times througout the night....but it was never off long enough to really causes any issues.  Take care and Happy New Year!

The snow is crazy here. I live in Willow Springs off NC 50 and the snow is beautiful but messy.  My parents are experienced snow drivers and still ended up in a ditch.

We actually did get a winter blast a few weeks back, but it shuts down the town. I grew up in the Spokane/CdA area and winter there can be a little hectic.
