A Bird's Meandering In The Snow

Snow started to fall here today in the early afternoon.  6-10 inches possibly before the storm moves out of here tomorrow.  The birds wasted not time feeding at our feeders.  These are Junco tracks.

Gloria, we have 12" so far and it's still coming down. It's nice and will make the next couple of days interesting

They look like little fossil trees, but reminds me of the poem, "Footprints in the Sand."  Neat picture!

Great picture!  Post a picture of the bird, I am not familiar with a junco.  :)

Ed, Gosh how much did you end up with?  Hope you like winter sports!

Myryl, I thought they were neat looking too.  Thanks for the reminder of that poem!

Chris. Please see photo below.  Junco's spend half the year in southern areas, then fly north for the summer.  Not a colorful bird, just gray and white, with white stripes under their tail only seen when they fly.  Their arrival here in PA in November marks the arrival of colder weather and their departure in April means warmer weather is on its way. I enjoy knowing that a group of 12-15 of them have chosen our yard as one of their haunts during their winter trek and that they keep returning year after year.

Gene, You are welcome.

Thanks All for stopping by!
