What do you do when the weather condition outside is frightful?  It has been snowing since this morning.  It is now after midnight and we must have at least 10" of snow outside.  I understand some areas are getting 3" of snow every hour.  Channel 4 said the wind was recorded at Islip, NY in Long Island at 64 mph.  I know it must be very strong because I can hear the wind howling.  We got the alert call from the Town Supervisor this afternoon about the Blizzard Advisory.  "Stay Home" is what Oyster Bay Town Supervisor, John Venditto said and I did.  I'll venture out tomorrow and shovel some snow but today I didn't go out at all.  Channel 4 just updated their forecast to 18-25 inches by tomorrow morning.  I can't wait to go down South but it is snowing there too in South Carolina.

Rosalinda: As long as you are toasty warm and don't have to be anywhere. this is a good opportunity for a busy professional like you to just put your feet up and read a good book. Oh, and wait until the snow stops to start shovelling. Happy New Year.

Rosalinda, believe it or not, but it is cold here in Daytona Beach, though there is no snow. And it is warm in Miami, so tis is this rare time a year, when I regret I stopped in Daytona, and did not drive all the way to Miami back then in 1996...

And I check ed the weather in US Virgin Islands, just gorgeous. I envy them

I know what you are talking about.  Here in the Hendersonville area of Western NC we still aren't finished with this storm.  It apparently is wrapping around/or something and bringing more snow than the foot on the ground plus high gusty winds blowing it all around and temps in the teens and still going down.

We are being promised that relief is coming and by the end of the week we will be in the 50's!

Stay safe and warm.

Jeffrey - Too much of that white stuff came down and we are starting to dig us out this morning.

Hella - I can't go anywhere because the town plow just blocked my driveway with snow.  At least four feet high.  Perfect time to catch up on my paperwork and some reading.  Happy New Year too.

Jon - The east coast corridor got hit very bad with this blizzard but I got a call from a friend in Charleston, South Carolina and she said it is cold there too and they also got a little bit of snow.  Mother Nature is a bit crazy lately.

Sue - We have about 2 ft of snow but it is still very windy outside.  I saw some photos of NC and Virginia last night and you got a beating too.  At least we have the town plows ready here.  The main highways are clear now and we are starting to shovel our driveway and walkway.  They forecast 40s by weekend.

Rosalinda, not too many places you can go to in the States to escape this crazy weather we all have been experiencing.  I just talked to Craig Rutman in North Carolina... he said it was the first white Christmas there since the 1940's.

Nick - The weather is really crazy all over the world.  I guess the snow is better than the flood which some areas are experiencing.  Have a very Happy New Year!
