Perseverance Despite Opposition

Good Morning! We hope that you had a fantastic Christmas. Today is mindset monday. There probably aren't many people watching because it's the day after Christmas. However, we would like to talk about opposition.

In the three years that we have worked together, we have faced some opposition. In particular, we have had months of opposition, and we can probably put this month of December in that category. It reminds us of August 2008 when we made a grand total of $250. We will likely close only one short sale transaction this month.

When you are new to this business, people will tell you that what you do today affects you 90 days from now. With short sales, the cycle isn't 90 days. It's 180 days. Looking back at what we were doing six months ago, this month of opposition has been sneaking up on us.

Knowing this opposition was coming, we found other ways to respond to it. We've had some changes in staff. We've hired a new full time negotiator and promoted a few people in our business. We brought in five or six listings during the week of Christmas and two referrals from our sphere of influence. Everything is going in the right direction.
