Come and see the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day in Pasadena, California!

You will get to see the most beautiful floats decorated with roses, flowers and exotic natural materials from around the world.

The very first Tournament of Roses dates back to 1890. It was started by members of the Pasadena Hunt Club. The members were former residents of the East and Midwest and wanted to showcase their new home’s milder winter weather.

For more information regarding the Tournament of Roses parade take a look at this link: http://www.tournamentofroses.com/roseparade/

What better way to show off your hometown’s weather by having a festival and parade of roses, while the parade makes its way down Colorado Blvd!

That is the one parade that I watch every year on television.  I just love it.  I never even considered seeing it in person before your invite.  Ah, something to consider.

Sounds inviting, especially so because we're experiencing freezing, windy snowy weather right now and trying to dig ourselves out of a blizzrd.  Lucky you!

Two reasons I would love to attent;

  1. I LOVE Southern California!
  2. The Badgers are going to be playing!

But alas,... I will be viewing it from my comfy couch here in WI.  (long sad sigh,....)

Hi Ralph:

WOW...I didn't realize that the parade was originally started in 1890.

It's a nice tradition.

We were going to go to the Parade on January 1, but then one of our ActiveRain friends (Tiffany Torgan) decided to invite us to her wedding, which is on January 1. We’re going to the wedding.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas with lots of fun and food with family and friends.
