Cycling in Morgan Hill, California.
Morgan Hill, California offers bikers some nice routes for all levels of cycling; from beginner to experience and from flat easy country roads to gentle to challenging climbs. We are training for a nice 100 mile ride in Palm Springs in February 2011 and decided to stick to the country roads without challenging climbs.
This 36 mile route is good for beginners to intermediate bikers, fairly flat with only 584 feet of climbing.
We started this ride at Concept Cyclery, a great and beautiful state of the art bike shop specialized in Specialized cycling components and bikes. The store offers great products and services.
As we were starting our ride this morning it was cold, foggy and the roads were wet with lots of fallen leaves. Not great riding conditions but by the time we finished the ride the sun was breaking through the thick layer of clouds. We headed north on Murphy Avenue, east on Diana Avenue, north on Hill Avenue and via E. Main Avenue north on Coyote Road where we picked up Coyote Creek Trail to Bailey Avenue where we headed west again to Santa Teresa Boulevard, which turns into Hale Avenue south of Richmond Avenue and continued south towards Morgan Hill again. We took a detour via Scheller, Doughertey and Tilton Avenues and continued south again on Hale Avenue until we intersected with Wright Avenue which we turned west to Peak and De Witt Avenues continuing south to W. Edmundson Avenue and headed further West. We headed further south on Santa Teresa Boulevard via Oak Glen and Sycamore Avenue and turned east on W. San Martin Avenue in San Martin heading toward the airport and turned left on Church Street toward New Avenue where we headed north again to Concept Cyclery via Foothill Avenue and Hill Road. All in all a great ride.
Enjoy your next ride
