2011: A New Year and a Chance for a Higher Credit Score!

las vegas real estateI work with a lot of renters and the question I hear most often is "Is my credit score going to impact my qualification to rent a home?" The short answer, YES! (But not always, they are looking for WHY it's low and not that is low in MOST INSTANCES.)

Also, I am asked a lot if I know much about credit repair. I know what I know but it's not authoritative information that I would pass on to others. There's a lot of good information on the internet regarding tips for credit repair (and some bad so watch out!).

What I tell most tenants is pull your credit and review your file - you might be surprised what you find on your report and may be able to dispute and have removed. Below are the 3 agencies that are commonly used to determine your score:

  1. Equifax
  2. Experian
  3. Trans Union

With great homes on the market and interest rates that are still unbelievable .... now is the time to whip your credit score in shape to buy your Las Vegas or Henderson home.

Good luck and have a prosperous new year!

Credit scores are scary things. They can affect so many things that people do not even realize. It can affect rentals, purchases and even jobs. Credit scores are used and back ground checks done more often than people realize.
