13 Comments on Wondering What To Do With Your Christmas Tree In Brampton, Ontario, Canada?
Al and Peggy: Good recycling effort. Ottawa picks the trees up and does the chipping for the city. The chipped trees make good mulch and ground cover.
Recycling all the Christmas stuff is important, besides trees there is the wrapping paper, the cardboard boxes etc. thanks for keeping it in peoples minds
Robert mentioned to me that to start the New Year off some people would burn them in the yard, alley or driveway but I think traditions have changed and this could be very dangerous
Nu Nu
Glad to hear that Valerie, it is a good use for the 'used' trees! All the best in 2011
Yes, Gerry you were the one to get us on to the recycling wrapping paper good information for other seasons as well as sChristmas
Oh, had never heard of that one Nu Nu, but you are right that could be dangerous. We had also heard of people buying them in pots now and planting them in the garden later, which makes perfect sense for a few years anyway LOL!
That's a great way to fill a need Al and Peggy. Build a festival around it and encourage people to come and do the right thing. It's also a good way for Mono to get people to stop by and spend some time and money in their local business establishments.
Yes Malcolm we thought it was very good marketing for the Town of Mono! Great idea isn't it!?
What a good recycling idea...wish we had something like that. Good local informational post Al/Peggy.
Al and Peggy,
Recycling the tree is great. Give it back to nature for reuse...nothing wasted.
Rich
I love this idea....we can drop off live trees to the city for them to use as mulch in the park...but I like getting it back for your own yard! (although I couldn't tell you the last time I had a real tree! LOL)
Happy New Year!!
Al and Peggy deciding what to do with my Christmas Tree after Christmas is an easy decision for me, I just put it back in the box until the next year ............ LOL
Thanks Anita, we thought it was worth the 45 minutes drive for our area residents!
Well said Rich! It's a great idea!
We stopped using a real tree a few years ago Deborah, but with this idea for recycling you never know.
You are too funny George! That is the best recycling idea yet!
This is such a great idea! I wonder if they have something like this by me...I will have to look into it.
Hello Al & Peggy and I see Nu Nu stopped by! I like the idea of planting them, and or have a Pine tree in your back yard that can be decorated each year for Christmas. Just keep the presents inside out of the elements ... ;)
