Television versus the Internet

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Lucky Star Realty

I wonder, does television reach more audiences and gain more face and name brand recognition than the Internet?  I have been doing a lot of Internet marketing and trying to rank high in the search engines like google and yahoo for real estate home searches for my market area: Crescent City, Eureka, Arcata, Smith River, Klamath, Fortuna, Ferndale and McKinleyville California real estate.  All my websites www.thavisaksyphanthonghomes.com www.luckystarrealty.com www.luckystarrealestate.com and www.luckystarrealty.net bring in a steady stream of leads everyday.

But if I start doing television commercials, will that translate into the same, if not more leads?  I guess another thing to think about, is if I do local television, that will build my business image amongst the local clientele, where as the Internet will bring in leads from practically around the world.  Or do you think that if one can afford it, to do both television and Internet.  Does anyone have experience in any or both of these realms of advertising and getting your name and brand out to the public?

ps.  A good way to get on television for free is to volunteer in local community events or help an organization run a big event.

You know I am having a blast at this Internet thing.  I haven't really made a buck from it except using it as a tool to better serve my clients.  I am about to branch into radio and TV soon so we'll see.  I think a shameless plug goes a little further in TV & Radio.  Find a way to get some free advertising before you load cash into media.

Since just about everyone is glued to a computer today,I would say internet ads over tv.I,for one, change the channel on tv the second a commercial comes on and I suspect there are alot like me.Internet seems more affordable and you dont have to put your marketing $$$$ in one basket.TV advertising can be costly.

HEre in Grand Rapids we have a real estate channel.  Some people watch it all the time, I don't know if it generates business because I have never used it. I love the internet
