Kudo's Carol Stream Firefighters..Another quick response (reported as:within 3 minutes) on Thursday 9/13/07 to the Newport Village Townhome community. Several townhomes on Esselen Court were damaged in a fire. No one was injured and the damage is reported at over $100,000. The unit in which the fire began is uninhabitable. (no surprise) and several of the neighbors were displaced as well.
With additional help from Winfield and Bloomingdale fire departments, the fire was stuck before causing further damage. The fire is still under investigation, but the home where it began is reported to have had smoke detectors.
