I just read this news report on the internet. Does anyone agree with him?

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said on Friday that it will take time to work through the problems contributing to current financial market turmoil but expressed confidence U.S. growth will not be derailed.

"I feel very confident that this economy is going to continue to grow," Paulson said in an interview with CNBC television. "Inflation is contained and that is obviously the key to extending an economic expansion."

I think we will see some growth by the end of the year.  That is due to the Fed cutting rates.  It will help us all out if they do.  We will see if it happens however.  My gut and what I see in the market says yes.

No one wants to see the fall of the economy if we have a lot of people on the streets.  It will hurt not just the lenders stocks, but have a snowball effect.

I agree with him, but it's a house of cards.  The economy probably can't take a major blow like 9/11 or Katrina.
