Energy Saving Tip of the day

Look for ways to use other lighting controls such as sensors, dimmers, or timers to reduce your energy use. Investigate which rooms are being used the most and least in your home. Also be aware of the type of lighting controls you use in certain rooms. Sensors would NOT be a great choice for dining rooms, living rooms, and kitchens because even though you are in the room ( watching t.v. on the couch) the lights will still turn off. Instead use dimmers for higher density rooms because depending on the time of the day you can control the amount of light in the room. In the day time there's no need for a full blast amount of light and at night, sometimes you do. For places like the bathroom and outdoor patio areas, motion sensors are great because they aren't places you're typically in for a majority of the time.

Good tips.  My goal for the coming year is to replace one window in my office a month until all windows have been replaced with energy efficient windows.

Since I have 12 Windows......the math seems easy.
