Christmas Tree Recycling

Your live Christmas Tree is probably not green and fresh like the day  you brought it home and decorated it......in fact, at this point your tree is anything but "LIVE"!   That's okay!  Even if all the needles are falling off you can still be "GREEN" by taking your tree to a place where it can be recycled!

Below is a list of locations throughout the Birmingham area where you can drop off your Christmas tree to be recycled.  Clicking on any of the locations will take you to a map link in case you need directions.

Be sure to note the dates though......they are all different, and the Homewood locations are only accepting trees through New Years Day.

The Birmingham Zoo (last day 1/4/11)

Burford's Wood Waste Recycling

Former Homewood Middle School (last day 1/1/11)

Homewood Public Library (last day 1/1/11)

Homewood Soccer Park (last day 1/1/11)

Shades Valley Community Church (last day 1/1/11)

Scout Square in Vestavia Hills (last day 1/10/11)

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

Oh, man, we just throw our dead Christmas trees in the streets, and the city of Sacramento eventually comes to pick them up. What's really bad about this is many of those trees are covered in tinsel, and the birds are attracted to the shiny stuff and eat it, which can kill them.

Ann, That's great that you have that type of recycling program going on.
