Family Owned Real Estate Companies Definitely Have Their Major Perks and Advantages

Ok, you won't have to twist my arm at all for me to tell you that I work within a small family owned real estate company here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest part of Washington state.

I love working for my Dad...he is my broker and my Mom is also in the business with us. Now, we all are not traditional real estate professionals....who is nowadays anyway, huh! :-)

In the past few years there has been quite a transformation for many in the real estate business and thankfully we found our niche in the broker price opinion and automation software fields.

In a few days my Dad and I (we are both certified real estate instructors) are putting on my accredited "Broker Price Opinion Basics 101' course here in Ferndale, Washington. I am going to be so excited and honored to be able to teach along of my mentor....my Dad.

Do any of you out there work for a family owned business too? If so, what do you specialize in? What is the one thing you love most about working within a family setting?

After reading that you love working for a family owned brokerage... I was just waiting the the "I work for my dad" part.  You didn't disappoint Nicole.  ;-)

Hi Nicole I have done about 100 BPO'S in over 24 months and not received a single property.

What I am finding is the banks list my REO properties 30-40,000 over my suggested list price.  This tactic has slowed down the flow immensely.

 

Got any ideas?

Hi Nichole,

I remember how I was so excited to find you, almost two years ago, and even happier to know you were right here in the great State of Washington.

We have become "friends" over that time, and I used all of your early systems.

Now that we have done over 1300 bpos, we have gone away from doing them, at least with the intensity we had before.

Our team now has closed 8 reo listings had 10 listed right now, 3 in closing, and 7 in the pipeline. You were a part of our early success!

Throughout that time I have appreciated you, Nichole, your story and your work.

Thanks for this post. It is part of why you are a terrific person.
