Amateur Night - First Night - Romantic night

DrunkNew year's Eve is perhaps not the excuse for an alchoholic celebration that it used to be - thank goodness.  Nevertheless some do still find it a convenient excuse to test the limits.

It is all too easy to see that many folks come out on this one night a year to celebrate and perhaps let it all hang out a bit.  Not being in the habit of dining out and imbibing on any regular basis these folks can easily find themselves slipping over the edge far more quickly than they expected - however innocently and unintentionally.

Then of course there are those who could be termed professional party folks.  These are perhaps more dangerous because they earnestly believe they know what they are doing; they know their limits; and they know how to get home (or to the next bar) safely.  They also tend to be somewhat pushier in their attitudes toward anyone who tries to help them or take their keys.Drunk Driver

So take good care this evening and know that everyone else on the road is a potential enemy to your own safety.  The phrase "Drive Defensively" never has more meaning than on this night.  Amateurs or Pros, they all are a threat.

Best to take advantage of the many safe and beautiful "First Night" celebrations available around the country.  Here in Western PA we have a wonderful First Night program in Pittsburgh to enjoy.  This long-standing tradition is centered in the Cultural District and is an alchohol-free celebration.

Or perhaps enjoy a house party in your neighborhood.  Or maybe even best, a celebration in your own home with your own loved ones.  Thank your God for the blessings of the year past and pray for health and happiness in the new year to come.

What could be finer than an evening by the fireside with loved ones sharing life's joys!  Do yourself a huge favor and take time to reconnect and finish this blessed season on a high - pointing to joys to come!

Day 31, Friday, New Year's Eve - A final note to the month for all to be safe and healthy.  What better plan for the future can there be.
