Did you know that Blairsville, GA is home to the Misty Mountain Railroad, America's largest, privately-owned O-gauge Train Display? The Misty Mountain Railroad features 14 Lionel trains traveling over a mile of track through tunnels and over bridges and trestes on a 4,000 square foot layout of Southern Appalachia. The fantasy journey includes scaled historic buildings from Atlanta, Blairsville, Dahlonega and Gainesville in Georgia and The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. More than 20,000 people visit the display each year.
The Misty Mountain Railroad is located one mile north of Alexander's Store on Town Creek Rd, just south of Blairsville GA at 16 Misty Mountain Lane.
Tours are available Fridays & Mondays at 2PM May - December
and
Saturdays & Wednesdays at 2PM year round.
A $5 donation for those age 16 and over is requested to benefit local charities.
