I am sure that by now most, if not all, of us have seen the T-Mobile commercials that ask "Who's in your circle of five?"

This got me thinking.  Who is in my circle of five?  Then, I took it farther.  Who is in my client's circle of five?

Here is what I came up with:

 1) Who is in my circle during the transaction?

- Client, Realtor, Appraiser, Title, Lender (sure there are sometimes where there are more, but these are the ones I most often talk to during the transaction)

2) Who is in my circle after the transaction?

- Client, Financial Planner, CPA, Estate Planner, Insurance Agent (these are the people that I introduce my client to so as to ensure that my client is well protected in their financial goals)

3) Who is in my client's circle?

- Friends, Family, Co-workers, Clients, Me

We all have our "circles" that we belong to.  The question is are those that are in your cirlce complimentary (help make whole) to the way you do business?  Are you part of your client's circle after the transaction?

I think a better question is not whose in your circle of five, but how many other circles are you included in. network yourself to be the go to guy/gal!

Interesting point! I'll have to think about that - not only in relation to my business, but my interaction with everyone.

Adam/Sharon,

You bring up a good point.  Thank you for your addition.

Thats very good point, I think at the end of the transaction we should ask our client for reffering and writing a testimonial or two for us. We should also keep our faces in front of clients eyes even after the closing through mailing, birthday greetings, phone calls etc

Thanks!

This is a crucial point Jason, thanks for posting on it! Today I toured homes held open by Agents who are NOT in my office or Company. I want to increase my 'Agent Networking Circle' to put it in your terms. And by approaching it as five a week, it makes it more manageable. Does that make sense? Thanks again!

Do you have room for a professional home stager in your 5.  It would be nice to have someone in your 5 that can help you get more money for the homes you sell.

Just something to think about.

"Jason aka Mr Mom"

I know you don't mind my off topic. My circle of five is my grandchildren...They come before any other circle I place around myself...BTW...We are always part of our Seller's circle we posted our circle of five and send our Seller's to meet them...How's that for an idea with a circle with a lovely wife twist...So much for off topic huh? Gotcha...LOL

Jason,

Thanks for the thought provoking discussion.  I need to present at my BNI group in a couple of weeks and I think I'll expand upon this thought, if you don't mind. It will be interesting to get feedback from those outside of the real estate arena.

We just use Verizon and all calls to other Verizon users are free.....circle limit dictated by number of Verizon subscribers...

Deb - I am glad that could help.

Barb/Jennifer - Another good tool is at a survey to send out after the closing to rate your overall performance.

Carole - The more circles you belong to, the better referral source you are and have.

Maureen - I personally have never dealt with a home stager, at least not from the mortgage side.  It would be beneficial for a mortgage broker to know a home stager.  This way the broker can recommend the home stager to a FSBO seller to help with the sale.

Brian - Never pictured you the country music type... :)

TLW - If I read the comment correctly, or if I read it... :) Not sure, I did not see any bold type so it was kind of confusing... good idea on actually posting the circle.  I generally do the word of mouth thing or hand out the business cards when it comes to my circles. (Keep reading the comments as it relates to your earlier post)

Beth - Don't mind at all... go for.  Let me know what kind of feedback you get.

The clients circle of five can be easily negotiated by a creative agent offering to host an open house for the newly bought home.  The people that show up early to help with the set up...that's circle!!!  The people that stay late...more circle, the one's in between offer opportunity, but he circle is sacred!

Jason, I never looked at that way, but I think that Adam brings up a good point, we need to include ourselves in our customers circle of five.

Jason... another good way to look at this. I basically call it my power partners.... .What is a POWER PARTNER? Who are your power partner's????  Same concept, just a different way of looking at things.

Thanks for a different approach. Combine both together and I am Donald Trump...lol

Jeff - Just stay away from the hair plugs.  He (The Donald) is the only one that can pull them off (or out)  :)  Power Partners... I like that term.  Although a "circle of five power partners" does not quite sound so good.  Need to come up with a new name when combining... have to think that one over.  I'll check out your post to get your approach.
