Crazy as it sounds, I maintain two blogs.  The other blog, miOaklandCounty.com is slightly more local in flavor, but some of the content appears both places.  Since I joined ActiveRain, I've been exposed to many more people maintaining two (or more Toby Boyce) blogs.  And we've all got different approaches to running these two blogs.

Last month we ran a blog tour, and we visited ActiveRainers 'other blogs'.  I learned a lot, and there seemed to be a consensus that people would like to do it again.  So, the time has come.  We are back.  The visitors are coming!

Here is how it works:

  • Put a link in the comments here with your 'other' blog's URL.
  • If you have a post that you think we would particularly enjoy, use that as the landing page.  But the main page is just fine too.
  • I will stop by any blog that is posted here.
  • If you post your own blog here, I ask you to visit at least the two other blogs that sign up immediately before you.   Of course, you are welcome to visit more.
  • If you add your blog early in the comments, you'll want to stop back later  to check out the new  additions.
  • When you are out visiting, leave a comment to let them know you stopped by.
  • Optional: You might consider adding someone to your blogroll.  If you don't have an outside blog, you could add them to your "favorites" on your blog settings or as an associate.

Let's close the sign up on Friday this week.  That gives everyone a couple of days to either get their blogs 'staged' or do their touring.   You don't need to have another blog to participate.  And you are welcome to come back and leave any observations here, so we can all learn from what you saw out there.

While you are out there, also take a look at this Squidoo lens that Teresa Boardman built.  Its very cool and a great resource!

So, join the fun.  Let's go out blog touring!

Maureen,

I started my other blog 1 week before I discovered Activerain. I have not posted on there in a while. I guess I should but I really have to show apartments :-)

This sounds like fun. Kind of like a "pub crawl" but different. I'm looking forward to visiting the other blogs.

I would love everyone to stop by an entry I did Sunday, inspired by a blog by our own Active Rainer Mortage Guru Brian Brady.  About remodeling costs and return on the investment .  This is one of those Real Estate is local kind of topics and the Cost vs. Value reports in Remodeling Online is something that pertains to all of us.  So stop by if you have time.

Oops I see a spelling error... better get it fixed before the Active Rain spelling police descend.

Maureen, Thanks for the invite! I would love to participate and see other blogs and gain some insight. Can't wait to read other participants. I may have to read more than the required amount... my outside blog is Sacramento Real Estate Voice for the Tri-County area.

Gena, I read them all.  It gave me lots of ideas for my own blog last time...

Thanks for tossing your blog in the hat.

Since Maureen was kind enough to mention me in her write-up, I better toss my dog's blog into the ring.

Sadie's Take on Delaware, Ohio

I do repost some information in both place and then also on MySpace. Don't overlook MySpace - I've been getting about 6-8 hits a day from people reading the blog intro at MySpace and then coming over to Sadie's site to finish the reading.

But the goal of Delaware, OH Real Estate is three fold ...

  1. To provide local news and information, plus also some general takes on the real estate market.
  2. Set me up as a local expert in the community
  3. Capitalize on the most searched term for Delaware, Ohio Real Estate.

Maureen - What a great Idea..

Nyhouses4sale.com - I do the same thing as you I think.  I sometimes post the same post - but with a few changes. But on AR I am alot more personal than my other blog.

Going to tour now ---

Okay, so I don't have "another" site where I blog seperately from AR. I do, however, link my AR blogs to both my website and my MySpace. So, I'll just rate this post with a "High 5!" cuz it's a really great idea!

You only maintain two blogs!   I have six... actually seven, but I redirected one.  Here are my other real estate oriented blogs that are kept current.  The rest are personal and family blogs.

If you're a glutton for punishment, and have nothing better to do, there are links to my "other" blogs on those blogs.

Maureen and Dmitry, I'm going to try to visit a blog a day.  I visited yours first and loved the content.  I'm not used to blogs myself, (except here on AR) is it possible to put a different color as a background, or maybe a water mark?

Chris, you can totally change the look of a blog.  Really very customizable.  As you visit some of the others you will see that none of our blogs look anything a like.

Thanks for visiting mine!

Maureen - this was great.  I think you have done this before, but I never made it onto that one, But, I will give you props for this and I vote that with so many new blogs showing up each month this should be a regular monthly, or every other month..

I have a few that I thought of puting on here, but I will go with the one I did today because I think that the shadie practice that needs to be made know to our Clients. Are TRIGGER LIST Putting Us And Our Clients At Risk???  Now let me go read some of the other blogs.

It took me too darn long. But I finally got around to all the blogs tonight! This was a great tour even for us "walkers" in the 5k.

Kristal - the idea is that we all check out other people's - non AR - blogs. Great way to check out what others are doing.
