67 Comments on What were your 10 Best ActiveRain Post in 2010?
Well, THAT would have been a lot easier if we could SORT by 'views,' but all in all, a great exercise to review the year's posts. I'm not entirely sure that VIEWS is the proper category by which to rank, because I had one post with 89 COMMENTS, but only 416 VIEWS. Oddly enough, a listing made #10 on the list - perhaps because it was my personal home I sold.
So, here's my top ten for 2010 - Lori Cain's Top Ten!
I don't think I am going to do a top ten list. Good idea..
I pay some attention to the stats. I have one post last spring that has over 9000 views... clicks are high too...it is about what our local board of REALTORS said about May's local home sales. The headline uses the word's " __________ Board of REALTORS®" Authority in the title is really all I can think of why the traffic is so high. Other months I have not seen the same results, doing a similar title. I kind of wondered if the traffic is the board staff or someone making sure I was not saying something bad about them. They monitor the use of THEIR name. Maybe they monitor it over and over....
I have a post early in the year where the clicks got run up REAL high real fast because a national real estate educator, read the post, misunderstood the post, made a big deal over the post, called my brokerage to complain about the post, claimed I was libeling her (or maybe it was slander she accused me of.) I believe she contacted ActiveRain as well about the post. Anyway the clicks were crazy, crazy high for the comments. I knew it at the time, with the Who's Amung us gizmo on my sidebar. A week or two later she came back to comment "Never mind" in a very Emily Latella manner (a character Gilda Radner played on SNL long, long ago.) I don't believe her "Never Mind" comment was an apology... or an admission that the post did not say what she said it said. And what she told my brokerage the post said....
Recently I have had some posts I Re-Blogged get really high views and clicks. One just this week was a Re-Butt... but I Re-Blogged a post of Cheryl Johnson's about the winter solstice that has really, really high views and clicks. There is a third Re-Blog post recently too that has oddly huge stats... really high. They stand out.
I just have too many posts to pour back over a year. Lots of them are hyper local content. I enjoy seeing what others come up with though as their top 10 posts in 2010.
David - Congrats on the feature and the challenge to pubish our top ten posts for 2010. Here's my post on my Top Ten!

David, saw several of my friends doing the same so I'll follow along. My top ten to come soon.
David - Great idea! Interesting to compare the amount of traffic on our posts with one another, too. I have to admit I haven't paid much attention to the statistics on AR.

David I think I will reblog this and include my top ten in the reblog. I don't really understand clicks so I think my best gauge would be featured post and the number of comments would be an indicator to me.

Ed's Top Ten Blogs of 2010 . . and The Hits Just Keep on Coming
Here are my top 10 Davd - great challenge. I don't usually study my statistics so I sure enjoyed a few surprises. One thing has me scratching my head however ... I have a few posts still in draft mode - never published with over 100 views. Now how does THAT happen??
Karen, nice post on your top ten, you will have to ask AR HQ on the draft mode, I think everytime you look at the post it marks a view ??? Not sure.
Ed, the hits just keep on coming is so true, once it is out on the net it is there for all to see.
Congratulations to everyone with the top ten, amazing to see what makes you the go-to person. Keep it up for 2011.
Here is my Top Ten Post! http://actvra.in/zJ
I definitely don't have as many views as other folks on here... but I'm hoping to blog more and increase exposure which will hopefully lead to more views.
Fun challenge!
