Christmas Photo Challenge  . . The 8th Day of Christmas

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

Eight Maids A-milking
The eight Beatitudes: 1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, 2) those who mourn, 3) the meek, 4) those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, 5) the merciful, 6) the pure in heart, 7) the peacemakers, 8) those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake.

Dagny, sorry I had to jump off the phone so quickly. I was at the re-dedication ceremonies for the refurbished Waterbury City hall this morning, and a few people I know were walking right towards me.

Happy New year

Hmmm...This is interesting, indeed. I wonder if the author deliberately wrote this song with all of these scriptural references in mind, or if it was a latter interpretation.

Joan, there are so many things we could use daily in our life, and if we have these we can't be off track.

William, the lyrics to the song are independent to the interpretation offered by the author. Many faiths have different interpretations to the books of the bible.
