Wilton, CT 06897 Has a Thrift Shop - The Turnover Shop, and is located just around the corner and below the Wilton Village Market (best food store in town!) and next to Fido's Food Bin. It's phone number is 203-762-3160. The address is 98 Old Ridgefield Road.
The staff is 100% volunteer, and most have been working there for at least 20 years, if not a lot longer. They know everyone in town, and all that is going on in town, and are super nice!
There are always fabulous treasures to be found- if you go in on Tuesday or Thursday during the consignment times, you will catch the better items as they arrive. Many folks in Wilton go in and browse the racks during the consignment drop off times, as that's when the pricier items will come in.
The Turnover Shop gives all of its proceeds to the Wilton school system - all donations and monies made go directly to the schools in town.
Donations can just be dropped off anytime they are open. They have a wonderful system, whereby one can pop in anytime between 10 am and 4 pm and just drop donations, pick up a donation tax sheet, and out you go.
If you wanted to consign items, you would need to go between 10 am and noon on only Tuesdays and Thursdays. Most everyone just drops donations from their homes and runs. It is a nice way to clean out your home closets, and contribute to the Wilton schools.
When too many things have been dropped off, or the items are too large to have there, they will simply send the extras off to Bridgeport, where all will be put to great use. They even accept furniture!
