7 Comments on Happy New Year 2011- Lets make some noise.
Ellie, it would seem that those Peruvians really know how to whoop it up on New Years. Sitting under a table in yellow underwear swallowing whole grapes sounds like way too much fun for a person to handle. I'd much rather do what you did this new years and go outside banging pots and pans. It might be a little stressful on the ears, but it sounds like a cathartic activity, great way to start off the year. Happy new year.
What a great tradition that the kids can always look back upon fondly when they grow up. Sounds like it was a blast!!!
In Ohio many people eat pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day, some insist you have to eat it midnight. Then those from the south eat black eyed peas. Some people here do both. I hate the tradition of shooting guns into the air. I did not hear any stories of anyone getting hurt doing that this year. We heard a noise but hoped it was a firecracker not a gun... although fireworks are illegal for individuals. Guns?
Hi Ellie, sounds like your kids were loud like mine, although we stuck with the traditional noise makers. We don't have any crazy traditions, just hanging out with friends, but at least we made it past midnight this year.
Hi Ellie, your kids looks like they had a lot of fun...
Happy new year!
Ellie, now that looks like my kind of party. our ideas change after we have children, don't they. lol. Happy New Year.
Hi Ellie- I have heard that in the world of feng shui, making noise at midnight is always thought of as keeping the bad spirits of the new year away from ones home. :0) happy New Year!!
