"The city of Edgewood could soon [temporarily] prohibit building new housing units in four zoning districts"

This was the lead-in for a story in the local Milton-Edgewood Signal today.  The Edgewood City Council will meet next week to vote on a moratorium on new housing in the MR-2, MUR, Commercial and the Town Center zoning districts [along the Meridian / SR161 Corridor that runs through Edgewood]. The next council meeting is scheduled for Sept 25 at 7:00 pm.

From my understanding, the moratorium has enough support to pass ... but just barely.  I know the council has best intentions, but "Moratorium" creates such a negative perception.

Larry - 5 members are in favor of the measure, 1 is against and the other member is abstaining.  I think the measure is sending the wrong message.  Just because THEY didn't get what they wanted, we ALL shouldn't pay the price.  Thanks for commenting
