We have one of those shelters here and volunteer a lot. My Boy Scout troop goes there too for service opportunities.
Good to hear Jay....abuse is a horrible thing that scars an entire family...whatever can be done to give them a hand up...should be done...we thank you too for all u do.
How fortunate that you came up with the idea, and also that the owner was willing to assist at a time when he was losing so much
The really fortunate folks are the womens' center who benefitted....on the last days the store was open...the owner was faced with getting nothing ....and wrote off the difference....so there was a lot of win/win....and feeling good about helping people who need a hand up.
What a wonderful story of giving! I love to see examples of people giving back to their community and helping others who aren't currently in a position to help themselves. Thanks for inspiring others to be generous, no matter the time of year!
