Are you adjusting your approach to your TARGET? Take a hint from the birds.

target

As you set goals and make resolutions for the New Year, are you prepared to make adjustments as you approach your target?

On New Year's Day while I was walking along the beach, I noticed the birds as they were approaching the roof of the near by Grille.  It was very windy and not easy for them.  But one by one, wind at their beaks, they approached the roof.  At times they had to hang like a Harrier Jet then wait for a momentary lull in the wind, then land.

Some approached, evaluated the situation and adjusted with a slight turn to the left, then to the right and then landed.

Each one had their unique approach to the target.   Some landed on the first try, others had to adjust their approach but they all made it.

Birds

As you set your sites on your goals this New Year, make sure you remember to build in the flexibility to alter your approach to fit the situation.  And, have the patience to step back and wait for just the right time.

the great part of being outdoors is when you're paying attention. That for the post. Without your text I wouldn't have quite understood the video:)

Kathy, you are so right.  We have to be able to be flexible and change our strategy to get the results we seek.

Birds are pretty smart creatures. We should take lessons from nature instead of trying to bulldoze it into submission :)

Kathy, the walk on the beach and watching the birds sounds so nice. Great analogy on the birds and setting goals....and ensure getting the goals completed.

Elisa- sorry about the video... I didn't have my camera with me and had to use my DroidX to take the video.

Vickie- I think all of the Realtors have had to adjust how they do things these past few years, right!

Catherine- I love studying birds, and all kinds of animals.  We could learn a lot from them.

Roger- you've proved how to do it... look at what you did in 2010!

Toni- I agree, when we try to mess with mother nature, it always comes back to haunt us.

Rebecca- I love ant farms too.... could watch them for hours.

Great advice.  It doesn't do any good to keep repeating something that doesn't work!

Hi Kathy, I love watching birds and you're right, they do have difficulty flying straight or landing when it's really windy but they don't give up!  Well, they really don't have choice or they would fall out of the sky i guess but the point is, if you don't succeed the first time, just try again!  Thanks for the walk on the beach!

Hi Silvia- you're right, they don't have a  choice, do they!  Hope you enjoy walking on the beach where you are as much as I love it here.
