Why are you blogging? You should be prospecting! What the HEdoublehockeysticks do you think blogging is?!?!
Once again, a fellow agent has taken it upon themselves to "suggest" that blogging is a waste of my time. I always want to respond with, "What the HEdoublehockeysticks do you think blogging is?"
So guess what? I am responding with that exact answer from now on! And I'm going to back it up with the following facts.
1. My blog, Selling your Wrightsville Beach home and doing some good along the way, brought me this comment:
Tish, you are SO AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for your support. You have helped Sharing Our Bounty from the beginning with the donation of items, financial pledging, and now ADVERTISING! :) You are a gem!
God's Grace and Blessings, Kerry Fitzgerald Sharing Our Bounty
2. My blog, Comfort Socks. Comfort for homeless people and their families, brought me this comment:
Thank you so much, Tish and Cinnamon for your caring hearts and efforts to spread the word about Comfort Socks and so many other great organanizations.
I have done a facebook post about this blog, and please look for something in our November newsletter, that will come out on Nov 30th.
Thanks again, we really appreciate you.
Theresa Tese Founder and Executive Director Comfort Socks
3. My blog, A Welcome word and a reminder to remember those serving our Country, brought me this comment:
Hello. Happy Holidays! I am the Volunteer Chief Executive Officer of Military Children's Charity, Inc. I wanted to take a moment to let you know that we did see your Blog article mentioning our charity. Thank you so very much! It is wonderful to know that from Southern California our message is reaching all the way to our fellow patriots in North Carolina.
Respectfully, Cherie Navarro
4. My blog, Annual 5K Jingle Bell Run Wrightsville Beach, brought me a call from a Consumer and led to this blog, Blogging Success Story. I got a call about one of my blog posts!
5. A blog I wrote about lot listings, Prepping to sell your Wilmington or Wrightsville Beach, NC lot, helped me land a listing and a Buyer Client. Now, some of you are probably wondering why this is last on the list, since it's the only "real" business I can point to as a benefit of blogging.
The reason is simple -- I believe we get by giving and the blogs I do about Charities are my favorites and the most important ones I write. If my blog helps one of these Charities do for someone less fortunate, then I have done what we all claim to want to do -- Helped Another. It's why we're in a Service Business, it's why we bloggers use our voices -- to make a difference. To do what we can, when we can, where we can.
None of this is to say that local advertising doesn't have it's benefits. But this is 2011, we need to take our marketing, our business, to the next level. And, in my opinion, that means reaching past our "local" lines and becoming more accessible and global. Blogging allows me to do that.
So, if you're worried about my prospecting, you can stop. My prospecting is just fine. In fact, thanks to blogging, I'm prospecting 24/7 and having fun doing it! It would be even more fun if you'd join me! Let's make a difference in 2011 through our blogging!!!
