As you create your real estate website, here are four things we believe are key to ensuring your website will bring you listings and client leads -- for free.
1) Be sure to place a link to your website on your Facebook page (you do have a professional page on Facebook, yes?). Engage in useful dialog with your followers about your local real estate market and you'll soon see an uptick in the number of people going to your website from the link on your Facebook page.
2) Update your website frequently with fresh content. This is probably one of the most important things that Realtors consistently miss. Updates can be as simple as posting to your web site's blog every day. Adding a page of content (information about your local area, for example) at least once or twice a month is also a great idea. Search engine crawlers like new content -- they "notice" when a site's been updated or changed. Adding new listings (even if they aren't yours), also counts as updating.
3) The shorter and "easier" your site's URL, the better. Aim for a shorter and more clear site url. Aim for easy spelling. "WeFindRanchoCucamongaHomesForSaleForYou.com" is way too much of a mouthful. "InlandEmpireHomesForSale.com" is much better in comparison.

4) Let your Twitter account be more than just about "all you." Of course, you'll want to post tweets that link to one of your new listings. But you also should link to information about your local market. Bit.ly and other sites allow you to shorten urls so that you can post links to news articles, blog posts, etc. of interest to your followers.
Speaking of posting listings on our website that aren't yours (number 2, above), RealtyTech's IDX123 can place dozens or even hundreds of home listings on your website, with you as the only contact. This can be a great way to keep your website constantly adding "new" content. What's best, though, is that any listing any visitor sees has only your contact information, whether it's your listing or not. Visitors will have to contact you to get more information, making the IDX123 a terrific leads generator. Contact us today to learn more!
