7 Reasons why one should NOT blog!

Yes, I - and many others - may have claimed this in past - "If I can blog, you can, too!" . Just to support that, I did write a post about why I blog on ActiveRain

And one of the reasons I had mentioned was -  I am not afraid of making mistakes in my writing. The community is so pardonable, they would understand what I want to convey as compared to finding out my grammatic or spelling mistakes.
(and there were some comments regarding the same...)

Stop Blogging

As I was thinking about writing a post about why one should not blog anywhere, let alone ActiveRain, I came across a powerful post from our own Bob Stewart - Why Your Blog Will Fail in 2011. In fact, I am going a step forward and suggest NOT TO BLOG at all! (Pardon me, ActiveRain Gods...for discouraging them. And I believe, they are here to blog.)

I will try to do justice to my post by being as much original as I can. Here is a countdown...

If you think...

7. "I don't know how to blog". (Give me a break - Do you communicate with your clients? Do you...think? Just write down what you think and that's your Blog!!!)

6. "I don't know what to blog about". (There are many ideas you learn from AR community - but if this is still an excuse, read this post.)

5. "Someone will be critical of what I write." (So why write at all and avoid all comments? There will always be different opinions on what you say. What will you do, then? Say nothing?)

4. "What's in it for me? Is this a (money) productive activity for my business?" (World is changed and I think and your clients will love you, if you blog - localism etc., isn't it?)

3. "I cannot spend time, daily, just for blogging" (I have better things to do, too! Spending some time on community pages is always to your benefit - seriously! I learned a lot here.)

2. "I cannot think about anything other than Real Estate and Deals". (Blogging should be about something you love - in addition to Real Estate.)

And here is the final one...

1. "Blogging? Huh!!! I don't have time for these stupid wierd things. I'd rather sell homes than blog". (That's one reason, why one SHOULD blog.)

Wish you all very successful 2011 (it's just 5th day of January - and there are still 360 days left for the year...)

Great list - and yes, there will always be people who will make whatever excuses they want to in order to avoid doing certain things.  Blog on!

Praful--David Letterman could not have done a better count down!!  It is easy to find excuses for anything and everything.  Blogging is what will bring us that real estate business we love.  People who are not willing to learn new things will get left behind!

@Connie, I had to wait after Bob's post as I had almost same ideas.

@Pat, thanks for your comments. I do feel I am not alone and whenever I get time, I hop on to AR.

I expected this to be read by more than about 40 so far - may be, my timing for post was not right!

Nice job, Praful - I just read several of your blogs to "catch up" to my subscription - it's been a busy December.  You just get better and better and I can easily see just by reading your blog why it is important to blog!  Keep going - I hope you reach your goals.

Praful:  Great post.  As for number 1, blogging is why I have sold homes so the "bah humbug" non-blogger misses an important lead generator when it comes to blogging.

If someone is out there for just not doing it right way, no need to blog, I believe.
