This blog is a direct experiment from a great tip by SEO Blogger, none other than Ms. Karen George: I decided to put most of what Karen wrote about search engine rankings all in one page and especially those I have applied and made changes to on my website and Active Rain profiles.
I have a PR of 2 on my website and PR 3 on Active Rain. I hope to eventually (with my own learning curve) get higher and higher. I have seen the effects of blogging, somewhat knows how keywords work but just never knew how this big puzzle fits together until Karen - the Arizona Mortgage Pro blogged about it. It is my desire to turn my "secret domain name" - there is nothing special to it; to a SEO project just for self-achievement sake. Of course with lots of contributions of Karen, REBloggirl of RSSPieces and other SEO materials/ gurus. I am planning to use tools like Google Analytics and Google alerts for tracking results. My plan is not to spend money on it.
Does a Frisco realtor have better things to do? Surely.... But it is fun and challenging to do this if I - with the help of others could figure it out on my own. Enough said.
(1) Adding a background to your blog to boost its good looks.
(2) Reorganize your tags to your blogs
(3) Get listed with DMOZ.org - a directory and from there, it goes into the World Wide Web.
(4) Find your Google Page Rank. You need to read the comments for further explanation.
(5) Unless you are famous, your name is worthless in the SEO world. Yup, it hurts.
(6) Be careful how you name your hyperlinks.
(7) Blogging for Google and its intensity.
(8) Image tags are important too (Hint: Google Images)
(9) Add relevant links to your Active Rain profile.
(10) Change your Active Rain header for better searchability and relevance.
(11) Freshening up your website frequently. Google loves it ()
(12) Title Your Content Correctly.
(12) Google is an information-filled site. So, do not devoid your searchability by it. Take up the 365-day challenge.
(13) Just as important as your header, blog footers are important too.
(14) Choose the right URL.
(15) Using Active Rain to help build your presence.
(16) Understand reciprocal versus one-way links.
The Great Blog Link Experiment (watch how Active Rain score higher in rankings)
There you go..... It took me 6 full hours go through Karen's wonderful blogs about SEO. It does seem overwhelming but she explained it to me and if I could understand it and takes me about 6 hours to read and implement as I go to eventually improve my rankings, I think I cannot find anything better to do on bedrest and my hubby still in bed!!!
(By the way, Karen is the only blogger I have read her writings in its entirety. That's how well she keeps her engagement in my readership).
