What's your level of education? Does it help you blog?

My son is a high school freshman this year and I'm trying to consistently encourage him to do his best so that he'll be accepted into a good university of his choice.  While considering the difficulty he sometimes has in composing essays and research papers, it hit me that there is probably a correlation with authoring real estate articles and blog entries.  It seems that more formal education experience should simplify the practice of blogging.

I enrolled in college right after my high school graduation, but dropped out and didn't complete my college education until I was in my mid 30's.  I wound up with a 2 yr Associates degree in Foreign Languages and a 4 yr Bachelor degree in Liberal Studies (was shooting for International Relations but didn't have another year to study).  Now in my late 40's I would love to go back to school and learn more.

Most states don't even require a high school diploma for a real estate license.  But I'm betting that AR bloggers come from better educated stock.

Hmmmm...interesting question.  I have a B.S. in Mktg, and an M.B.A.   But the "older" I get, the less important it in determining my success...life experience is the ultimate teacher, while formal education opens more doors.  However, I do feel that being able to express yourself clearly in written and verbal form is critical in any endeavor.  So keep nagging your son...it shows him you love him and care for his future!  (He'll believe you in about 10 years!).

Let me start off by stating that I hate to write for the formal education setting.  I have a B.S. in Mathematics and decided not to go on in my education because of my extreme aversion to writing. (yet here I am posting blogs).

I would love at some point getting my MBA or masters in something, but there is that niggling that I would have to write for someone else's pleasure - wait that's what a good blog is, isn't it?

hmmmm.....

Thanks Susan - I appreciate my parents more every day.  It may take my son a little more than ten years.

Matthew - I know exactly how you feel.  Thanks for commenting.
