The adventures of my little side table Part 1

By
Home Stager with Home Star Staging

In my work as a Professional Home Stager, I had the pleasure of using my little side table steal yesterday in a vacant property I worked on.  I used it in 3 places for this one property.  Now that's useful!

The little side table is happily sitting in a home in Garland, TX awaiting further instructions on where to report to next.

I used both that I had purchased and ended up getting 3 more last night.  My Plano, TX Wal - Mart on Spring Creek & 75 must have every other Wal Mart's "convertible table" around because there were still about 20 left.  I truly restrained myself. I think 5 are enough!

Just wanted to share the photos and adventures that the "tables" will be going on in the future

They are like transformers  optimus primetoo, they take on a new life with every turn.

tray Here I used the tray for a coffee "station" vignette for the kitchen. I put some sticky tack under the tray to help it adhere to the base of the small wooden accent base I had.

Here is the base of that table used as a newspaper rack in a sitting area vignettemagazine rack

                                                          side table

Here it is pulling duty for its true  calling, side table!

If you were able to find one and decide to use it, please share with me your photos here! I'll keep you posted on the adventures of my side table too!

Let me know if you find them Maureen.

Terry - I looked online cause Sue Argue had gone on and neither of us couldn't find them.  On the 1st blog I put the SKU# and the Barcode # on a comment for reference.  They must be seasonal.

Hi Kathleen - you just need to put 2 close together (did you see Dawn's photo above?) and if you want to turn them on the x  put the tray on top but adhere it with a bit of sticky tack so they won't slide easily. I'd dare say you could also put black velcro tabs underneath ( I don't think you can pull the paint off these things but they will scratch) to make it work.  If you got them, play with them, it's fun to come up with different uses.

Karen - I went to Walmart yesterday and they had a ton of them.  They were in a display in the isle near the furniture.  They were $15 - that's NY for you.  I got 2 - I will post pics when I use them.  Thanks so much for the tip.

Lacy - visit your local Wal Mart - hope find them

Maureen - I would have thought that the price is the same all over the country - how strange - yeah, those NY businesses, I recall the first time I was in Manhattan at a TGI Friday's and I got my favorite club sandwich for double what I paid for it in FL. It was also ice cold - it had been in the refridgerator and when I questioned the waiter on the price and the frigid sandwich he said, "this is Manhattan lady!"

It's so funny that you mentioned that very side table!!!!  I just commented on a blog about bed trays and referenced it about an hour ago.  Great minds think alike!

I went to Walmart's today and lo and behold there they were on clearance $7.00 each, yep that's right $7.00, I bought the last 2. I never would have noticed them if it was not for your blog, thanks.

Instead of a magazine rack, roll up towels and put in bathroom, ah huh!!

Good to know my Walmart still had about 20 last week at $10 so they gotta be cheaper now. Great idea about the towels too. Thanks Phyllis!

Ooooh Anthea, I need to get back there - I just used my 3rd one today! $5 dollars now wow, that's really a steal! and they really come in handy with these vacants. You should go back and get more and sell them on Ebay! The trays are great alone too as well as the 'cross' magazine style rack. Lucky girl!

Karen,

I'm with you. I'm kicking myself for not picking up more. Just the trays alone are worth $10. I also love the box they come in...easy storage and transporting.

oh man.......I'm NOT a fan of Wal-mart.....  but after reading everyone's comments on several blogs about the "Wal-mart" fruit.........I DID go there last week and loaded up on pear's, apples, and red chili's - and everyone was right.....it's great stuff.  Now it looks like I'll have to go back today...and search for your tables...... I LOVE a good bargain.........thanks for the tip!

and the reason I dislike Wal-mart is not so much because of the store....it's just that there aren't enough of them in Tucson....and you practically have to park 3 miles away and take a shuttle to get to the store and then wait in line for 20 minutes  :(

Karen - Exactly how many of those little side table to you get??? HA!  Great work woman. Also have to add that I recognize the little tan wicker chair in the picture - Pier 1  presume?  :)

How did I miss the blog on the fruit at Walmar? Darn it!

Happy Staging!

Anthea, yup you're right the tray is solid and seems worth at least $10 bucks, love the transport, flat and easy to store!

Nancy - I'm not huge on Wal Mart for killing the small guys, they are a mammoth and taking over the world. I will cave for a great price though!

Beth I bought 5 and 3 are in use right now. I haven't been over to Walmart lately but if I go and there's more I will probably get what ever is left if they're only $5 now. Yeah, I missed the fruit too, gotta check that out now... The chair yes my dear Pier 1 (I have 2 tan and 2 black) was another steal.  I have the Pier 1 designer discount card. Those chairs (originally $99) were on clearance for 24.98 each (about 4 weeks ago) and then I got another 20% knocked off w/the discount, so they were $20 bucks! Come shop with me sometime!
