Fall is one of the nicest seasons in Colorado (followed shortly behind by winter, spring and summer). Colorado is blessed with four distinctive seasons. After a hot, sunny summer, the weather begins to cool and leaves begin to turn beautiful shades of gold, red, orange and purple. This is a great time to get out and about and experience some of these fun, fall festivities!

Now is the time to visit the local farmer's market. The end of season harvest is overflowing with goodness. Fresh herbs, vegetables, fruits and flowers can be found along with other fare from local farmers and artisans.

As our farmers markets are over, yours are starting.  Colorado has some of the best peaches and corn I have ever tasted, and all grown locally.  Environmentally correct!

Love the farmers markets! And this time of year is just great. Listen to the furnace click on in the AM and turn the air conditioner on in the car by afternoon.

Chrissy - Do you happen to know if any of those farms up there have apple picking this time of year?   I have a buyer (down here) I am working with that asked me that just the other day.

Jennifer- You're a kindred spirit - I LOVE Terror in the Corn. It's really scary! I bet you have some amazing fall colors in your neck of the woods too.

Joanne- It might be worth a trip down to the flatlands for some end of season sweet corn. The Tanaka farms stand also has the most wonderful roasted chile's. It's great to go over on a cold fall day and stand by the hot roaster - the aroma of the chiles is out of this world!

Ray -  Thanks for the comment - it's nice to be back. I've had quite a week - I missed you!

Dena- Amen to that! I love days that start off cold and are nice and toasty by day's end. Gotta love Colorado!

Steve- I'll check around to see where one may pick apples. I have an apple tree in my yard, but the apples are still not quite ripe. I like to wait until the end of September. I'll let you know if I find an apple picking farm for your buyer.
