~ How well do you know the road you travel? ~
Real estate is like a map. Each transaction you participate in is a road. Do you ever travel down roads with which you are unfamiliar? Or do you always follow along the same road? Have you ever gotten lost and had to pull over and ask for directions? Or do you 'mapquest' before leaving home? Sometimes this road is an adventure and sometimes you end up on the side of the road with a flat. But the important thing is to make sure you always have enough gas to keep you going. Has your business been like traveling up a mountain road filled with high peaks and low valleys rather than a road with some curves and a few small, yes, small inclines and declines?
I have decided that my 2011 business was going to be a more comfortable ride. The curves in my road represent my becoming more flexible. I need to adapt quicker to changes and be able to adjust to the market. I will become more familiar with different roads by reading and following the signs along the way and seek out unfamiliar information. To make sure I don't get lost or a flat, I will continue to learn as much as I can about short sales, foreclosures and the market changes. And to even out the peaks and valleys, I will continue to prospect every day. This will keep my business going more evenly. The road map of my real estate business in 2011 is going to be in the direction I want to go, rather than wandering aimlessly as I seemed to have done in 2010.
Your 2011 map to success is in your own hands. How well do you know the road you travel?
