The Suspence of this Great (New Book) is Killing me …
Page 77 from “The Dark Side of David” … (New Book) coming out Spring of 2011
When he opened his eyes it was dark all around him. His head was throbbing and he couldn’t catch his breath. He realized he couldn’t breathe through his mouth because it was covered with something. His nose was bleeding, but if he calmed down he could breath through it. He took several slow, shallow breaths and tried to relax his body.
He became aware that his arms and legs were cramped. They were tied or held behind him with something, he couldn’t tell what. His wrists and ankles were sore from whatever was binding him digging into his flesh. He could tell he was in a very small space, and that he was moving; most likely the trunk of a car. He could hear a male voice coming from inside the vehicle, but he couldn’t make out what was being said. He didn’t hear any response, just one voice droning on and on. In the distance he heard a train whistle. Where was he being taken? What the hell was going on? He felt his heart start to pound faster as he became panicked again. He struggled but was unable to move his limbs. Every time he moved, his head would pound even harder. It was probably best to be still, to calm down and reserve his energy for whatever was coming next, but that thought panicked him further. He kept telling himself to just breathe as he tried to relax his muscles again. He closed his eyes and listened for any sounds that may help him figure out what was going on or where he was being taken. He tried to remember how he had gotten here, but his mind was blank. Every time he felt the panic rising in him, he focused his energy on breathing and relaxing his muscles. He had no idea what was going on, but it was obvious that it wasn’t good. He just had to concentrate, relax, listen, and be ready for what was going to happen next. God, what was next? Author Robert Swetz (Dark Side of David) All Rights Reserved 1-6-2011
