There has been a lot of discussion lately about how the mortgage interest deduction (MID) primarily benefits only the wealthiest Americans. The National Association of REALTORS just did a study that found the largest demographic group who benefit from this deduction (as a percentage of income) are younger-middle class taxpayers that earn less than $100K a year.
