This goes out to all the ActiveRain members.......Yes, RainMakers too! Don't be afraid to Change your Profile Picture once in a while.
We're in a new year with a new business plan and new goals. Why not a new picture? And this goes for facebook, twitter, linked in, and any other social media that you belong to. It's a good idea to freshen things up a bit and keep with the times. " Say there Sam, should I add the same updated photo to everything? "......... No........ Use differentpictures for different profiles. That's why you have different profiles! Let's take facebook for example: Although you may have professional contacts, it's more for fun and sharing what's going on in your life. Maybe a showing a lighter side might be more appropriate. Linkedin is more of a professional networking tool so a conservative picture may be in order. Twitter? Your guess is as good as mine.
Now that I have your attention, let's talk about those that don't have a profile picture at all. As you can see this person is #2 for their area. Are you serious? You became a member of a Social Media website and you're not going to at least up load a photo? Not very social if you ask me. As a potential buyer, I would want to see who I am dealing with.
"Say there Sam, how do I go about changing my profile picture on ActiveRain?" Well let me tell ya. Log in and on the left side of your profile you will see a list of links.
Next to the My Profile link there is an link, click on said link and it will open up your profile in edit mode. Underneath your current picture (or blank if that's the case) you will see the "Choose file" button.
Click on , choose your picture from a location on your
computer and double click on the picture. Now you're ready to click on
and that's it! You can adjust the positioning of your new profile pic by clicking on...........Wait for it.........The
link at the bottom of you profile picture.
"Say there Sam, it says my picture is too small, what can I do about that?" Well, upload a bigger picture. You need to have a minimum 600x600 picture. You can edit, adjust, crop, and re-size all your pictures for free on picnik.com. It's very easy to use and the site walks you through each step.
