Quick and Easy RecipeOn New Years Day, I attended an annual "welcome the new year" festivities of a friend.  Though she asked me to bring a vegetalbe tray (I am again paying attention to what I eat!!), I decided to throw together a simple chili that I often make.  It took all of about 20 minutes, and the entire dutch oven of chili disappeared in less than 1 hour!

1 pound ground beef, browned

1 large onion, diced and added to browning beef

4-5 minced cloves of garlic, added to sauting meat and onions

4 cans kidney beans, with juice

2 can diced tomatoes (any flavor you have on hand)

1 tablespoon chili powder

salt and pepper to taste

several "shakes" of Louisana Hot SauceQuick and Easy Recipe

After the meat and onions are browned, add all other ingredients into the pot and simmer for about 20 minutes.  I took the hot chili to the event with a ladle and watched it disappear in less than an hour!  Healthy, warm, good eats on a cold day!  Someone brought corn bread, so I put a slice of the corn bread into the bottom of my bowl and added the chili for a warm bowl of good eats!  Enjoy!

That sounds so easy and good.  Especially in the cold weather, and possible snow we are getting here this weekend.  I usually substitute my ground beef for ground chicken.  Yes, chicken, not turkey.  It is much more moist and flavorful and just as good for you.  Thanks for sharing!
