"The Fixer Upper" by Mary Kay Andrews is a sweet, quick, funny read that features a young woman fixing up an old plantation style home in south GA.
Mary Kay Andrews is a nationall bestselling author of seven novels, and a former journalist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She lives in Atlanta.
It's a perfect read when taking some "down" time. It will probably appeal more to women, because as a group, women enjoy the romance feature more than men.
The story includes the protagonist who learns some basic do-it-yourself home improvement skills, a crooked politician, a crooked lobbiest, some country, small town lawyers, a cranky 80 something cousin, her cocker spaniel, and a real estate agent who paints houses as a hobby. Oh, and some FBI agents.
Fun, fun, fun. If you like the book, say a real estate agent from Tallapoosa, GA told you about it.
