Flower Mound dignitaries recently "put a permanent mark" on the highly anticipated Community Activity Center (CAC) during a special ceremony. Members of the Town Council and Park Board signed their names on a steel column that will be used in the construction process as a symbolic gesture of progress. Scheduled for completion in summer 2008, the centrally located CAC will provide Flower Mound residents with an array of amenities and features such as a full-service natatorium, lazy river, gymnasium, indoor jogging track, and teen and senior citizen rooms. The CAC will also host many classes and activities including art, dance, educational, and fitness classes as well as sport leagues and camps, various special events, and competitive swim meets. Flower Mound has created a dedicated website, www.flower-mound.com/cac, for residents to track construction progress of the CAC, view updated construction photos, and see a list of amenities, features, and the history behind the project. |
