5 Comments on Buying a Gettysburg Pa Historic Home and HARB
I love Gettysburg, and I'm happy there are restrictions to keep the charm and historical significance.
Margo, It is not easy striking a happy medium, nice to have you stop by, be sure to check my site http://gettysburghistorichomes.com for more info
Very important information for someone buying a home within the Gettysburg Borough Historic District, Gerry.
This is an important post for your market! We have a Preservation Society and homes marked as historical. Much like you refer to, when the home is sold and you want to "alter" you must check with the Preservation Society for the regulations. I Sold a home last summer in our district and the buyers asked about adding a wrap around porch to the existing front porch and I had to check on this for them. Good info as usual Gerry!
Sharon & Marilyn, you would be surprised how many times local agents are bypassing this little detail and people get really angry when they find out they cannot do the upgrades they wanted to. Thanks for stopping by, your comments are always welcome and I hope all is well with you both...Happy New Year
