Like sand sifting through my fingers...
I remember reading another person's post about how glad he was that the year was oh-oh-ov-er! 2010 was difficult for many in the industry across the country. Lee, my real estate partner and I had a share of disappointments, especially toward the end of the year.
We had 3 transactions that fell off, one after another for various reasons:
- one client experienced buyer's remorse
- and a seller refused to come down on price
- the bank perceived a property was worth more than market value
We were anticipating the income that would come from these modest sales but knew our client's best interests ruled above and beyond any other factor that presented itself. Sometimes things go wrong, even when you are doing everything right and the only thing to do is to see it through to the end.
And I have to admit when each transaction failed...it felt like sand sifting through my fingers...and no matter how tightly I squeezed them together...the tiny granules continued to escape...I think I'll grab another handful and try, try again! 2011 does look promising!
