Friday's Fotos -- Car Bizarre

The owner of this car is certainly doing his/her part to "Keep Portland Weird"!  That's a bumper sticker often seen around town - but usually on fairly ordinary cars.  Maybe because this one was parked in the Hawthorne neighbohood, they were taking it literally.  Not that Hawthorne is more weird than any other 'hood here in PDX!

Someone is proud to own that little gem. Has more personality than most cars you run across though.

Alexsandra - If you could just purchase that car and put your RE graphic on it, you could get all the free local exposure you ever would need

It makes me think of the expression "hiding in plain sight", you don't even notice the "car" per say. Gee maybe it's stolen (who would ever notice the plates)!

Ellie -- stopped me cold -- just had to get a photo!

John -- I surely would be memorable driving around in that!

Randy -- you would have to be proud to drive around in it.  Personality plus!

Bill -- I'm thinking miniature sold signs and houses, perhaps some high rise condos?

Bob -- that's a good point!  i never thought to look at the plates!

Steve - hmmm, but I doubt it gets a traditional wash either.

Alexandra, Well all I can say is the owner of this car can certainly find his car in the parking lot with NO PROBLEM!

Rebecca --   You are right -- they will never wander around wondering where it is.  In fact wouldn't be surprised if others avoided it, and there was a big wide open space!

My guess is:   this car is just a extension of truly over-filled, over decorated home.....that looks just as wierd.

Whaddayabet?

Is that a chess set or a battle-scene with little brown Army men?

Hawthorne may not be an usually wierd "hood" in PDX.  But this "hood" is exceeded in its wierdness only by the top of the car.

Wish we had a close-up of that.

Alexsandra,

Maybe it's the newest thing - wallpaper your car instead of painting it. :)

Jim - Now that could be!  Instead of renting a storage space, just put it on your car! Mostly odd action figures - but if the owner wanted a little practicality, hmm chess game ...... no, don't think it's an issue of practicality!   Cute pun!

Steve -- new trend - wallpaper, it's a thought alright... however, in our climate, doubt wallpaper is really going to catch on! :-)
