Anyone that knows me well, knows I love my job just as much as I love fishing. My job doesn't feel like a job. It's different every day. You never know what is going to happen until it does. The poop can hit the fan but you take care of it and everyone is happy in the end.

The beginning of the week I worked from home. I started Spring cleaning. Yep, I said that! I figured it's going to get even busier as Spring nears. I neglected my home. I would be embarrassed if anyone walked into my home. I was a real estate agent's worst nightmare and a Home Stager's dream rolled up into one, lol.

The rest of this week including today has been very busy for me. I've had 4 buyer appointments this week and another one tomorrow. I'm finding buyers are gun-ho to buy a house. No one I'm working with are in a rush. Good! No reason to be unless it becomes a seller's market overnight and we all know that will not happen.

One appointment was over the phone today. They live in Manhattan and want to move to Nassau County. They couldn't have been nicer. I will be going through listings for them very carefully because property taxes in Nassau County are high in some towns than others. Some property taxes could be considered mortgage payments. And adding the mortgage to that along with insurance, etc., a home could be a ball and chain. They do not want that. Thank goodness! They just want a home, not a house. A place that is solitude for them.

I met with another buyer in my office today. I can't get into details but all I can say is that they are fighting to get their down payment back on another house they bought a year ago. The only person they were happy with is their attorney. They have been through the wringer and I am grateful that this bad experience hasn't reduced their trust level with me. I referred them to one of our mortgage brokers to re-do their pre-approval and we will see what price point they will be in. If they end up buying a home through me, I will write about their experience in detail without naming names. Only because there are lessons to be learned.

All in all, it really was a good day in real estate. Can't wait for tomorrow!

Having an office with great energy and great people is such a bonus. I've been on both sides of that equation and being around the right energy is so beneficial.

Hi Mike, not a problem! :)

Hi Ellie, we already have. Going to Montauk in July. And I'll be fishing! :)

Hi Victor, that is always a plus! The office was quiet today and I like that too :)

Hi Loreena, Thank you. Oh, I love fishing! Can't wait to start that back up come Spring! :)

Jackie,

Hmmm, you enjoy fishing.  New news to me.  I do love that real estate doesn't feel like a job (well, at least not 96% of the time.)  A great day for me includes tennis or a ride in an old convertible, my pre-mom car.

All the best, Michelle

PS - Way to go on the great business. We are seeing good activity with buyers right now to!

Jackie, sounds like you're off to a great start for the new year.  I completely understand about taxes and how they can be a mortgage payment all by themselves.  When I moved to Alabama from Chicago and looking for a house I kept inquiring about taxes and was told not to worry about them...that they were a non-issue.  Well coming from Chicago taxes can be just like another mortgage payment...but as it turns out taxes here really are a non-issue.

Hi Nick, I know taxes there are not an issue. It amazes me at how low they are in other parts of the country. Have a great day!
