I think more so than anything...our AR makes all of our quiet competitive nature come out..and what's funny, is in the process of reading posts to comment on and blogging. I have actually learned quite a bit here...I suppose that's the point right...? a beer, or maybe a margartia would be nice...  :)

Points only position you here...how much it enhances Google juice is beyond me..I would worry more about what you are blogging for. Is it for points? for friendships? for business? or all the above. I enjoy writing so if I get business which I have that's an extra bonus. Remember...when you go home at night the points are still sitting there.

All the points do is get you up higher in the rankings.

The 2 Members with the highest scores for a given city, county, state, are featured at the top of that particular page.

The best advice I can give you is to forget about the points - if you participate regularly, you'll be surprised at how quickly your #'s will go up.

I asked that same question right after I joined AR. I was curious if I could use them toward Frequent Flyer Miles or as you asked... a cup of joe. It's a shame we can build up all these pointsand not at least get a free seat on a plane flight .......Oh well, maybe we will get something better like leads which bring in business which brings us revenue which we can use to buy our coffe or plane tickets ...... so I guess in a round-a-bout way ...... we DO get a free cup of joe and other benefits.

forget the points, just blog for the public,  in fact dont get totally attached to active rain, it looks like they are shopping it around to sell it anyway.

I'm so points consumed everywhere else that it's good AR's free from those chains. Enjoy the ride!

Take advantage of freely promoting yourself and your business on AR. Obtaining points is just a bonus for your AR position.

Hi Karen, I read on a post the other day that they were all out of shoes for points.  :)  LOL.  That's cute.  You can get clients with the posts that you get points for.  That's pretty good.  Welcome to Active Rain!

I don't know, but keep saving them, they may be worth something someday. :)

I am getting such good ideas.  Shoes for points or saving it up but clients for points are the best by far.

I've heard that your activerain points, plus about ten dollars, will get you a very nice cup of coffee in most places.
