So you tell me you want to sell your house by yourself, (FSBO), and save the commission, Sylvania, Ohio

As a Realtor, part of my business plan is to contact home owners who are selling their house FSBO (For Sale By Owner).  Typically I hear I do not want to list with a Realtor.  My response to the home owner is..."So you are telling me you want to sell your house by yourself and save the commission".

In August I had this discussion with a FSBO who was selling a 3 bedroom, 1 ½ bath home.  My last conversation with him was in October, and that he had received offer..  I congratulated him and wished him the best.

This home did close in December. His asking price was $95,000 and he sold it for $75,000.  Upon review of the area where this home was located the average price a home sold for was sold $101,887. So did this person really save the commission?
